Avon High School is the home to a well-rounded and elite level band department. It is the only high school in the country that offers five world class ensembles for its students (Avon Marching Black and Gold, World Guard, World Drumline, Avon Indoor, and Wind Symphony). Each of these ensembles has won multiple State and National Championships, with the most publicly visible being the Marching Black and Gold, winners of 14 state championships and 3 national championships. The entire band program has earned a total of 54 state or national championships. With over 350 students in the band program every year, the Avon Band has created opportunities for thousands of young adults and provided positively live-changing experiences.
